As a consulting arborist, I’m here to help take the uncertainty and guesswork out of your questions or concerns about your trees. Though I do not provide pruning or removal services, I will give you professional, unbiased and science-based information regarding the health, maintenance needs, safety and value of your trees. A combination of education and 30 years of experience in arboriculture have led me to an understanding not only of trees, but of the needs and desires of the people who care for them. Below are a few of the services I can provide, if your questions are not covered below, ask me! If I can’t help, I will connect you with someone who can.
Services Provided
-
Health Assessment/Diagnosis
What’s wrong with my tree? This is a question every arborist hears nearly every day. I have 30 years of experience identifying causes of trouble and recommending solutions. Most problems are due to cultural or human caused issues, not pest or disease.
-
Inventories
A tree inventory is a valuable tool and is essential in developing a management plan. It is particularly useful in mitigating liability should a tree cause damage or injury. I can complete an inventory consisting of only a list of trees, a comprehensive list of recommendations for management and/or a detailed map of tree locations.
-
Prescriptive Health Plans
I can provide you with a 10-year prescriptive care plan for your trees based on tree health needs and your desires. Among other things, the plan will include pruning, irrigation, pest management, and day to day health needs. You can then share this plan with your tree service or landscaper to help you make it happen.
-
Landscape Planning
It does matter what type of tree you plant and where you plant it. Each type of tree has specific needs for soil type, irrigation, and exposure to wind and sun. Planting location is very important as well. I can help you identify the right tree for the right place, then select the strongest, healthiest candidates for planting.
-
Risk Assessments
As a Qualified Tree Risk Assessor, I can help determine if your trees have structural problems which may put you, your property or even your health at risk. Based on the outcome of the assessment, I will recommend options to reduce or eliminate risk. Removal is not always necessary.
-
Appraisals
Your landscape trees may have value beyond the value of firewood or the cost of replanting one new tree. A Tree Appraisal is done to estimate the value of a tree to your property in terms of its species, health, location, and the services it provides to your property. I will complete an appraisal based on the current size, location and condition of your tree.
-
Mitigation Plans
Occasionally, trees must be removed to make way for new developments. Completed prior to removal, a mitigation plan accounts for any healthy trees to be removed and provides a plan to mitigate their loss of these through new tree planting or monetary reimbursement.
-
Tree Education
I can provide tree-related education to classes or individuals. Pruning, planting, identification, and landscape planning are among topics available. Hands-on pruning and identification are also available.
